Talk Queer in French

2018
Aiming to simply translate Queer words from English.

Gender fluid, non-binary, fem, masc and so on are used all the time in English, to deconstruct the gender binary. This project uses graphics and illustrations to bring these words and the notion of what queerness can be into French, by suggesting the use of simple definitions, saying or examples already commonly employed.

As an example:

Je ne rentre pas dans une case.” would mean I don't fit in a box, giving a general comprehension that the gender binary is a box, a label, a construct and that is option to getting away from it.

C'est pas mon genre.” Literally translating to “this is not my gender” but more commonly understood as “it's not my type.” Using the well known and controversial masculine/feminine logo to create a direct association between gender expression and the absurd vision of “man wearing pants, woman wearing dresses.” as the norm.
